Till now i used a billionton bluetooth adapter (http://allbt.land.ru/ bill.jpg) and all went well. Now i need to extend capabilities of my application and i don't know which access point fit the application.. Sorry if i'm bothering you, but before to find the correct bluetooth adapter i bought 5 of these and i'd like not to repeat this experience with the access point :D

i was thinking about this http://www.blueunplugged.com/p.aspx?p=101190 because it seem that does not need external driver so i hope it use one of the windows driver (that listed here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841803) that have to work with bluecove because the problem is that bluecove use the windows bluetooth stack. i'm right!
This is access point not an adapter! It has special software running on that device to support PAN. I know zip about D-Link hardware. I know that some Linksys devices can run Linux. On Linux you probably get a better chance to run your own application.
As to BlueCove it will run on Windows with supported BT stacks. BlueCove will connect to any Bluetooth RFCOMM server or client. E.g. works as SPP Serial Port Profile
The PAN Profile is deferent based on Generic Access Profile (GAP). PAN is intended to allow the use of BNEP(Bluetooth Network Encapsulation Protocol ) on Layer 3 protocols for transport over a Bluetooth wireless technology link. http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/802/15/Bluetooth/PAN-Profile.pdf
mmm, i've searched every one on google.. maybe i have a problem with the word "access point", i'm not a guru of the net :9 now imagine i don't know almost everything.. what i need is to cover a large zone (a fair) with bluetooth net, discovering devices and sending them a file.. I can do it with a computer and the right adapter but how can i manage the distance? i mean, how i send file to more than 100 meters? for obviuos problems i can't use a computer every 100 meter :) what you would have done in this situation?
Ps: i've tried the alpha that there's at http://bluecove.sourceforge.net/bluecove-tester/ of bluecove and i have seen your name on the installer!! :) so it's you! cool! can i know when you will release the new version? i've tested it and works with my widcomm hardware, this is cool, means that i can use widcomm hardware, but without the software it's a bit difficult :))
I don't know how to cover big territory with Bluetooth. Your best option is to have Devices every 100 meters. I suggest you to look as Linksys or other open hardware with Bluetooth.
v2.0.0 to be Released 2007-07-xx or when all bugs are fixed and tested.

Yea! the problem is they i don't know how to do this using cheaper device. Now i can do it using as device a pc and a bluetooth adapter, but as i said i can't use a pc every 100 meter, and so i'm trying the way of using access point but i don't know what to buy and how manage the situation (how to set up a scatternet? how to make principal device (the pc with the java program running on it) communicate with the other device (access point) and tell them what to do?)
